Here’s my post for this week’s Gallery at Sticky Fingers.
Nature is amazing, isn’t it?
Now, I freely admit that this picture makes my skin crawl. I have a very strong dislike of bugs. But somehow I still find it amazing that creatures of that size can work together in the way that they do.
Maybe humans have something to learn from it.

I also love watching the live in ant hills. In the Czech Republic we have a very famous children book and it’s all about the life in an ant hill and the main character is “Ferda” an ant. I used to love reading it when little
Ants are great, we’ve just been teaching our children not to destroy the ant nests in the mountains here because it takes them so long to create one.
So fascinating to watch how they cooperate so well. Am always amazed by what they can carry too.
Wow, that is an amazing picture.
Brilliant photo – even though I’m not a fan of ants either
That’s a brilliant picture. I find these little critters fascinating, I have to say. I could watch them all day. Superb stuff.
That is a great photo. Bugs are fascinating but they do make my skin crawl too!
Oooo, that is amazing! I love it! x
Ok, I am not mad about them, but I have a sneaking admiration of ants too:) Great photo. Jen
Don’t like ants inside the house and digging up the sand between the garden tiles but…admire them too. They always work so hard and are incredibly strong. Great photo!
Wow. Ants are SO cool and in terms of all working together for the greater good of society, there’s a lot they could teach us.
In fact, all insects (even the gruesome ones) are pretty amazing.
Oh wow! You know, it’s kinda scary just how powerful those little creatures can be because they work so efficiently together. Very fascinating – but also quite unnerving!
BLEURGH!
However. Delighted to let you know that you have been awarded a prize for your pix!

What a fantastic picture. Phenominal what is right under our noses if we slow down enough to look isn’t it. My 3yo spends hours watching insects and already has a huge facination and respect for them, however small. I hope he keeps it when he goes to school. Congrats on the prize. Well deserved!
